Last night, after a very full day of church, relaxation, blogging, and shopping, I was ready for a very FULL night of sleep. It warmed up quite a bit and I knew that we were expecting some bad thunderstorms. I normally sleep through the storms that arrive during the night hours. I am just NOT the night owl I used to be 6 children ago. So, after running into Kroger last night and then a later supper for the children, we all go to bed. Ahhh, the sweet rest that sleep brought! 
Well, it did until my dear, sweet Mother In Law called both cell phones at 1 A.M. this morning to make us aware of the tornado warning in our area. We were to wake all the children and retreat to the basement, she informed me. 
Well, I am not one who is frightened by storm warnings by any means. Last summer, there was a warning (and, unaware of a funnel cloud down the street) I was simply went about my business while my MIL and hubby had all the children in the basement. I figure, if my Lord and Savior wants to use a tornado to take me home, I am not gonna get buried in rubble while He is trying! 
So, back to last night. I woke up my wonderful, peacefully sleeping and hard working hubby to make HIM aware of all his well-meaning mother had just told me. We both step outside to check it out. We hear the wind picking up. We get lots of rain and more wind but nothing more. I never heard the sirens go off either. We both go back to bed. I finally fall asleep after 30 minutes of singing Francesca Battistelli's This Is The Stuff in my head a few times. 
Needless to say, I am so very glad we did not wake 6 children ages 13 and under to go to the basement for a mere 30 minutes just to send them back to bed. And I won't forget to turn my phone off tonight.

2 boxes Hamburger Helper @ $0.97 each-coupon took off $0.97 each-so FREE after coupons!
4-16 ounce packs of Bar-S hot dogs on sale 4/$5-used 2-$1/1 coupons and 1-$1/2 coupon-so $2 (or $0.50 each) after coupons!
My total OOP(Out Of Pocket) costs was $2.06 and  I saved $8.50!

All in all my total before Kroger plus savings, eCoupons, and coupons was well over $250-after all my savings I paid approx. (because the cashier ripped part of my receipt off, I am missing the exact change amount) $115 and got back $33 worth of catalinas good on future purchases (like paying $82 for everything!!!) which cannot be combined but I am very willing to break my next trip down into multiple purchases to maximize my savings.

I went to two stores last night after bringing my oldest daughter to Youth Hanging Out Night at our church. 
First stop was Wal-Mart. Here is what I got at rock bottom prices there:

Before coupons and ad match my total for everything was $61.43. After coupons and ad match my total was $15.91 in food items and $29.42 on household, pet, and school supplies. Total purchase: $45.33 with tax.

My second stop last night was to our local IGA to ad match the Purex deal from this week's CVS ad. 
What I did:
I ad matched 6 bottles of Purex 32 loads @ $1.99 each and used 6/$1 off one coupons making my total on those $5.94 or $0.99 each.
I ad matched 6 boxes of Purex Complete 3-in-1 sheets @ $3.99 each  and used 6/$3 off one coupons making my total for those $5.94 or $0.99 each as well. 
After taxes I paid $14.57 and saved $38.40!!!

Wednesday was an early dismissal day for my older four children. I also brought home two extra kiddos to watch until their mom got off work. That brought my total number of children up to 8 for the afternoon. My nerves were already a bit edgy that day-a side effect of my fibromyalgia I am guessing. I decided that since it was such a nice day to let the ones without homework play outside. I also had one on the Wii. The children were literally all over the place. Not good for this mom, I later realized, as my nerves unravelled even further. (I know, you're probably thinking, "Geesh, suck it up lady!")
So, the children outside managed to find every muddy spot (and we had church to go to later) and I am really beginning to get antsy every time I look at muddy hands and shoes. I should be used to this by now and able to adapt and overcome and all that other stuff we Moms of Many Young Sibilings say but on this particular day and in that particular moment I just wanted everyone clean and sitting down reading or playing quietly.
Our young friends' mom came to pick them up and then I rushed my crew inside and started telling everyone to get cleaned up. Wash hands and faces, put clean clothes on, clean shoes and on and on. Then the children decided they wanted a snack-the snack of choice? CHOCALATE pudding =)) My five year old commences to take hers outside to eat. While outside eating her pudding, she thought it would be fun to get on the trampoline. So, my multi-talented, multi-tasking five year old daughter decides to climb the ladder up to the trampoline while eating her pudding. Yep. Who knew you could do that? She is almost up all the way when the ladder shifts and she slips, bumps her chin creating a small gash in her chin. The bleeding stops and we conclude that it hurts way more than what it looks like.
Last night after dinner,she decides to let us in on the fact that she has a loose tooth. REALLY loose tooth. She pushes it forward with her tongue so she can show us how loose. Daddy checks it out and finds the one next to it is also loose. We decide that the bump to the chin the previous day gave her more than a gash in the chin-it also succeeded at giving her two loose teeth-on the bottom, front and center. She will soon be able to use a straw without parting her jaw. Her main concern? "Will I still be able to whistle?"
